Walt Disney Parks and Resorts (WDP&R) has grown into one of the world’s leading providers of family travel and leisure experiences. When Bastian went on FAM trips per exclusive invite from this company, at the heart of WDP&R were five world-class vacation destinations with 11 theme parks and 44 resorts in North America, Europe and Asia, with a sixth destination currently under construction in Shanghai.

 

The WDP&R universe of attractions also included the new Disney Cruise Line with its four ships – the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy; Disney Vacation Club, with 12 properties and approaching a total of 200,000 member families; and Adventures by Disney, which provides guided family vacation experiences to destinations around the globe. Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park  in Orlando, FL, is divided into six themed “lands”:  Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland.

TASKS 

Bastian was the guest of Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL, on five different week-long FAM trips. She covered the opening of new hotels and/or attractions for national meetings and travel/tourm industry print publications. Only select journalists were invited to these high-profile events based upon their reputation as professional writers.

 

Bastian stayed at the beautiful Swam hotel, Dolphin hotel. Yacht Club hotel and Magic cruise ship (maiden voyage), and enjoyed full access to Disney’s theme parks as a VIP guest of Disney. After each trip Bastian wrote articles about her trip and newsworthy items for national meetings, travel and tourism magazines.
