Great American Insurance Group’s roots go back to 1872 with the founding of its flagship company, Great American Insurance Company. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the operations of Great American Insurance Group are engaged primarily in property and casualty insurance, focusing on specialty commercial products for businesses, and in the sale of traditional fixed and fixed-indexed annuities in the retail, financial institutions and education markets. The members of the Great American Insurance Group are subsidiaries of American Financial Group, Inc. (AFG), also based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
TASKS
A Cincinnati ad agency was charged with the task of creating a media kit (comprised of multiple press releases) for its client, Great American Insurance Company. The media kit was all about the insurance firm’s new and innovative “Drug-Free Workplace Program.” The agency had hired a local freelance writer to write the publicity materials, but the draft copy delivered was not professional-grade work, and so was rejected by the client. To fix this disaster, Bastian was hired by the agency to totally recreate, from scratch, all the media kit materials. This intense work was expected to be completed within a tight timeframe in order to meet the client’s original deadline. Bastian completed the project on time, and within budget. More importantly, the client was quite pleased with Bastian's materials, and used them to successfully secure a high volume of national publicity for its workplace drug program.
